Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has projected the demand for ambulances at NTPHC Zakura and NTPHC Khimber under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) Yojana to improve emergency medical transport facilities in these areas, the Health and Medical Education Department has said.
In a written reply to MLA Salman Sagar, as accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the department said that while ambulances are presently not available at the two health centres, one ambulance each has been proposed under PMJVK to strengthen emergency response and referral services.
“In the interim, two ambulances from PHC Zadibal are being deployed as and when required to cater to the needs of NTPHC Zakura and NTPHC Khimber, ensuring no centre remains unattended during medical emergencies,” the reply reads.
It added that one ambulance is already stationed at NTPHC Faqir Gujri to serve adjoining habitations, while a Critical Care Ambulance (108) has been stationed at Darbagh Harwan to cover the entire Block Hazratbal and Zone Harwan, including Harwan New Theed, Faqir Gujri and Mulnar.
The department said the arrangement ensures timely and efficient medical evacuation and patient transport during critical health emergencies—(KNO)
